Time for a loose-ends trying, bad sentence-constructing wrapup, all of it dealing with news in and around China.
First, they're dealing with Asian bird flu. Then there's this benzene spill thing, a mining accident that kills 150, and an earthquake. That's four big disasters in the past month if you're scoring at home -- if not, try flowers.
That's the bad, so here's the good. Lisa missed the babies and the foster home so much she's going back early. That's right, Jan. 4 she'll leave Jake and me again and head back to JiaoZuo for a few weeks of care and fun with the kids. And even though Dong Lin won't be there, his spirit will be helping to guide her back.
In addition to this spirit companion, my sister Sallie will also travel with her in person. I suspect that Lisa's good choice in bringing Monica last time reassured the foster home coordinators that Lisa wasn't just bringing in party friends, as they seemed quite pleased with having an extra set of helping hands.
About two months from now -- three weeks after Lisa and Sallie leave -- I'll see China for the first time. I'll have heard about it and read about it, and just about everyone I know will have seen it before me, but that won't matter. It'll all be new to me.
