Christmas Wrapping Up

If we had spent one more night opening presents, Sophie would have thought we were Jewish.

At the left are pictures of Sophie's four favorite presents this Christmas. How many can you name?

On Dec. 22, the world's worst Christmas skit in history was performed. Among the errors were forgotten lines, poor acoustics, and the fact that Sophie -- who wasn't supposed to appear until the very end -- started screaming and didn't stop until she was sitting on our laps.

There's something fundamentally strange about carolling in shorts and a t-shirt.

Krispy Kreme goes out of its way not to sell merchandise bearing its name.

Sophie made her first-ever request for an encore reading of a bedtime story: "Goodnight Moon."

In the spirit of the holidays

Before Christmas ends, I'd like to get out one recommendation (and supporting link) for Kiva.org. They're like the Ebay of micro-loans. If you have $75 to loan, they'll match you up with a sheepherder somewhere who needs that amount. You get your money back without interest, and no one has yet defaulted on of these loans.

Anyway, seems like the kind of charity that we should all be doing this time of year.
