The Irony Edition

Irony #1: The more there is happening in life, the less time there is to write about it.

Irony #2: After writing recently about how much kid activity there is on our block and how much we look forward to Sophie growing up here, we put our house on the market this weekend.

Irony #3: Some friends thought they had sold their house this spring, but a buyer backed out at the last minute. The deal was done and agreed on, the house was off the market, etc., when the buyer discovered they couldn't actually afford the house. I railed on behalf of my friends saying that there should be financial penalties for buyers who don't follow through.

On Friday, an hour after putting in a final bid on a house in Midwood, I called off the deal, forcing our agent to make up a story about our finances. I'll go into the details of that day later, but suffice to say we could have afforded it but chose not to. In other words, I had become the slackass buyer I was complaining about just a few months ago.

Irony #4: Last week, I saw a guy taking a smoking break at work while wearing his yellow Livestrong wristband.

#1: If you think about it, that makes perfect sense. I have more going on right now that I could ever hope to, which means there is no time to write about it. But wait, I have time to leave a comment here. Hmm.

#2: The grass is always greener...

#3: You guys have lived there for quite a while, perhaps just a case of cold feet? ;-) Would be tough to give up that house.

#4: That was me in a different life. Or maybe it really WAS me!

Five years in the house, but it's proving harder to keep clean than to give up. We backed out of the other one for much stranger reasons, which I can hopefully explain at some point.
