Sorry sorry

I haven't been posting as much as I expected, but then this trip hasn't been quite what we expected. I have a connection now, though, and will pound out as much as I can with a squirmy baby on my lap.

First, Sophie is still amazing, and more so each day. We've had some phenomenal days together. We got to Guangzhou yesterday, which is the final stop before we fly out. Last night was our worst night because the baby respiratory infection going around the group finally got her. I slept maybe 2 hours, and the whole night she had to be sleeping on my chest. She's much more attached to Lisa now, but in times of strife she still needs me, and last night was all about strife. She's on antibiotics and cough medicines today, so we're hoping for a more restful night.

She keeps showing us new parts of her personality -- the funny athletic girl, the shy girl in groups, and best of all the mommy's girl. It's hard to believe it's only been a week.

Guangzhou is beautiful. It's like a European tree-lined city with warm weather and somewhat sunny skies. The group is so much more excited to be here than in dreary and cold Wuhan. At night, we walk around the island section where our hotel is location wearing shorts -- again, quite a change from the snow that hit us in Beijing. Some families are lucky enough to adopt from the Guangdong province, and they get to spend their entire trip here.

Signing off now so we can go buy some traditional Chinese silk dresses for $5 or less. Sophie says to type: "jsdvhgs74ryhhguh894234," which I think means she can't wait to meet everyone.
