Lisa comes out

Lisa and I are part of a Yahoo group made up of people we plan to travel to China with. We just read the site, though, and haven't posted until now. Lisa broke the ice by giving everyone a little good news. See, everyone on the group is worried that the next round of referrals from China will not include us, and that we'll be knocked back a month in the process. Her good news hinges on the difference between the Documents to China (DTC) date and the Log-in Date (LID).

I *THINK* that the stats are for DTC, not LID. I know that GWCA calls them the same thing and uses the LID as the DTC but most people on the boards refer to DTC and LID as two separate dates. So I *THINK* that you all are further along than you think. Our regular DTC is 3/25 (203 days ago) and our LID/GWCA DTC is 4/14 (183 days ago). Please don't stone me if I'm wrong. :-)

Get all that? I only barely follow it, but I nod my head a lot and think about Pistachio Pistachio ice cream.

Ok, so now for an introduction: We are Lisa and Jacob from Charlotte, NC. We are waiting for "Poppy," our first child. I use quotations because this is what we call her now -- I'm sure she will forever be Poppy to me regardless of her formal name. :-) Jacob is a web developer and I am a former school counselor but now a stay-at-home-soon-to-be-mom. I can't wait to be able to just say SAHM!

See, everyone knows Ben & Jerry's for the wacky stuff like Cherry Garcia and Chunky Monkey, but no one know about this incredible double pistachio. They don't even sell it at the ice cream shops -- you can only get in the grocery store. Oops, I'm rambling.

I've been lurking for so long, I've felt too guilty to "come out." I've read all of your messages and have had thoughts to reply but then I think, "but they have no idea who I am and it's been too long." But better late than never? So here I am, can I come out and play, too?

Anyway, Lisa set off a mini storm of hope among the waiting families, during which one of the revealed that their little girl's temporary name is "Little Buckethead." I feel a lot better about "Poppy" now.
