What we Owe

Almost 15 years ago, my mother sat down with her father-in-law and recorded his war stories. Like many of the men his age, Granddaddy was a WWII vet with an amazing story of bravery and sacrifice who had never let that story out. Mom coaxed it out of him and then published a booklet that detailed his accomplishments.

My small part in this story is to be able to post that history online. I hope people will read this story of a chaplain who won a Bronze Star for rescuing a wounded leiutenant under intense enemy fire. Edgar Stohler was a chaplain, not a soldier, but he still showed the greatest bravery under the worst of conditions.

I would be interested in reading your great grandfather's story (Edgar Stohler); however, I noticed the link was broken. He sounds like a brave man.
